Our Services
-
Hire an Instructor
As a hybrid model, we service students in public schools, charter schools, private schools, and directly with families. We work with students on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and services. A family or individual can work with us on a private basis. Under a hybrid model, our service providers are able to reach students that have difficulty finding a teacher. The world has evolved with technology and people with visual impairments can thrive with the advancements in video conferencing and learning platforms.
-
Mentoring for Your Team
We mentor teachers, whether you have a new teacher, or you have a veteran teacher who has been working in education but is transitioning into special education. Working in special education can be both overwhelming and daunting. Many teachers are tossed into difficult situations and large caseloads. Let our experts guide your teachers and give them the confidence to tackle issues. We have the experience of mentoring and giving teachers the tools they need to find success.
-
Coaching for Individuals
We provide private coaching for families who are receiving services from a school district or an agency but would like to have an outside motivator. Maybe you are working with a school district and would like tips on how to work with your child at home. Maybe you would like to learn how to advocate for your child’s services in IEP meetings. We also coach students and adults who have IEPs and have graduated from high school or college. Hire someone to help you maintain organization and set goals beyond grade school.
-
Consulting for School Districts
Many school districts and agencies do not understand the scope and role of their designated instructional support staff, especially teachers of the visually impaired and orientation and mobility instructors. District personnel overseeing these service providers may not have worked in the same field and have limited knowledge of what some DIS providers do. Let us show you how much work is involved for your special education staff. We will help you create fair caseloads and work situations so you can retain and attract more special education staff.
-
Mediation and Contentious IEPs
We would like to envision a perfect world where everyone is in agreement with the IEP services and walk away happy. This is not always the case. Districts and parents will always have to deal with disagreements on what services should look like in the IEP. We thrive with these cases. If you need someone to assist with sorting out issues and help facilitate an agreement, we are here for you. Make life easier and resolve conflicts before they blow way out of control.

We Do Not Provide Visual Therapy
We often get approached about providing visual therapy. Visual therapy may be prescribed by eye doctors to treat eye conditions and other conditions. Only an eye doctor is qualified to provide these treatments. Visual therapy is not the same as services from a teacher of the visually impaired. Teachers of the visually impaired are not qualified or certified to provide visual therapy. Teachers of the visually impaired provide specialized services to students who qualify for special education under a visual impairment eligibility in the IEP.
